OrionFLY Sells a Pilatus PC-6 Turbo Porter to a Swiss Client
Orionfly is pleased to confirm the sale and delivery of a Pilatus PC-6 B2-H4 ‘Turbo Porter’ to a Swiss customer who will use the aircraft primarily for leisure and ski operations on the Swiss glaciers.
The Pilatus PC-6 B2-H4 ‘Turbo Porter’, designed by Pilatus Aircraft of Switzerland, is a high-wing utility aircraft with great Short Take-Off and Landing capabilities. It is powered by a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-27 turboprop engine and is used for many applications and roles all over the world and on nearly any type of terrain. Most commonly it is used for transportation in the mountains and for dropping parachutes. Capable of operating on uneven and unimproved runways, on the snow or on water in the amphibious version, it features unbelievable short take-off and landing capabilities.
It was originally built to fly services and supplies to the world’s most remote regions. Its unique combination of robust construction and remarkable useful load has resulted in many additional applications for the PC-6, including air ambulance evacuations, firefighting support, skydiving operations, surveillance and wildlife management.
First flown in 1959, the PC-6 was produced in several version at Pilatus Flugzeugwerke in Stans, Switzerland until 2022.
The PC-6 sold by OrionFLY is one of the last Turbo Porters manufactured by Pilatus before ceasing the production line of this legendary aircraft.
